Gurren-Lagann’s plot is actually deeper then you’d think. It’s actually mimicking the various famous mecha shows during 70s, 80s, 90s, and what we assume to be late 90s. Take a look at the first arc. You have Kamina, who is a massive badass who is unstoppable. The more ridiculous stuff happens and everyone is the better for it. Very much like the first super robot shows out there where the heroes were unstoppable and the robots did the most amazing yet illogical things out there.

Well first off here is Code Geass 24-25 HQ by Your-Mom. My understanding is that it’s not using a HQ raw (the standard t.v. size one), but has all of the glaring errors cleaned up out of the LQ release and combined into one download. If you’re still waiting on GG, they’re still subbing away and their release will be on their website. Season 2 info after the jump.

Due to the spoilerfic nature, the entire thing is below the jump (only click if you want to know what happens). The episode, without subs, is on Saiyaman as [S^M] CODE GEASS -Lelouch of the Rebellion- 24-25 END RAW. Saiyaman’s site is known for popups, popunders, etc. but the raw will be decent quality. Hopefully GG will step up and sub it soon, even though it’s licensed. As a reminder, season 2 begins sometime in October (last I heard October 5th).

Did you like Welcome to the NHK? Did you like Pani Poni Dash? How about Great Teacher Onizuka. Imagine these three anime mixed into one bowl and poured into the mold that is “Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei”. It’s a dark, mysterious anime that is lighthearted. That sentence makes no sense but it’s a pretty accurate summary.
Go research then watch. Go on! Hurry! Good anime late in the season awaits you.
If you’ve been following Hayate no Gotoku you may have noticed a recent drop in quality of recent episodes. It seems that the quality of the show (story not animation) has dropped. People are no longer laughing at the jokes, it seems really dry, the story is going nowhere, and the PPD feel has been overcome by just boringness.
Has Hayate no Gotoku! jumped the shark? Well, I’m doubtful. But I do feel it’d been better off being a one season instead of two season anime. As it stands, I don’t know, but I do believe that it’s going to fall into the list of anime that isn’t really watched nor thought about much. Stuff like PPD (Pani Poni Dash) is mentioned constantly while Hayate will just fall into nothingness. Unless the story picks up… that is.

Here is a hot topic: Moe. 萌え for you who can read Japanese. Moe is, to be simply is a fetish for something related to anime. It’s hard to explain, but let’s say someone who has a bandage moe is all ga-ga over any anime character wearing bandages. Well, now there are is a growing number of people who claim their actual sexual alignment is towards the moe or 2-d.
Now, I’m sure I’m going to get some details wrong, but the major point is that there is a growing number of mostly males who say that they can only love something digital… something in anime. (more after the jump)

Have you seen an anime by the name of Claymore yet? No? Pity… it’s really amazing. Since I’m no longer reviewing anime (because there is little point in it) I guess I’ll just discuss it and try to get the new Claymore bandwagon going.
Claymore is an anime that has a strong Shonen Jump feel to it (it’s going into Shonen Jump (well the manga is) soon!). It features female warriors who fight yoma (demons) with giant Claymores. They themselves are half yoma (demon) and there is a lot of adventures involving various enemies losing heads, arms, bodies, and other way cool stuff.
I suggest checking it out, it’s being subbed by Eclipse who doesn’t have a website (just check datorrents. Quality subs, excellent anime. If you’ve heard rumblings and you like seeing people fight the impossible it’s the anime for you.
