While not able to speak Japanese I will say that episode 22 doesn’t need much language outside of one section. All it needs is pretty much awesome. Preview after the jump. Continue reading ‘Gurren lagann Episode 22 Preview’

A quick post then a little ’bout gurren. Wanna discuss some anime? Join the forums today.
Now for some lagann: The next upcoming episodes will feature all of Gainax’s top staff, including a ton of people who worked on both Dead Leaves and FLCL along with Abenobashi. It’s going to be sooo good.
The following are spoilers for episode 22 of Gurren-Lagann. They expire after it airs and they aren’t exactly 100% confirmed, but from a reliable source. Continue after the jump to read them.
Have you watched episode twenty yet? No? Well, that sucks! Why not? It’s currently Thursday. Subs came out Sunday. What kind of Gurren Lagann fan are you? Bah! Get to watching.
Anyway, episode 20 brought about two characters who are part of the Gurren Brigade but lately have been lacking in position. That is of course Kittan and Yoko. Kittan played a somewhat important role in getting Simon back on his feet after the death of Kamina. Yoko was important during the first arc but afterwards sort of faded in the story. This current arc neither has been seen of much.
Kittan is now a major Internet sensation. He’s probably passed Bruce Ironstash in popularity with episode 20. Not only did he stand up to Rossiu and declare the Gurren Brigade as an entity again - but also took back Simon’s spiral key. Much needed for the resurrection of the Gurren-Lagann after Simon gets out of jail…
Bruce Ironstash (pictured right in the center) has appeared as a new icon of the hate against Rossiu. You may know of him as the weird looking guy from episode 19 who is doing the weird arm movement after Rossiu is hit with the rock. You probably don’t know him, as he is kinda obscure. 4chan though doesn’t let anything become obscure.
I think that Bruce Ironstash should become an actual character in the show, if only he does what is pictured to the left (JUST AS PLANNED). His facial expression is just too awesome to pass up on. Although that brings up a question, should Rossiu be hated?
As of episode 20, it remains with a firm “yes” that he should. His self centered views are only leading to destruction. He doesn’t kick reason to the curb. Of course this goes along with the mid 90’s mecha anime that was super serious and anything gar was looked down upon or held in small dosages.
As a reminder, episode 22 is the end of the current Gurren-Lagann arc, episode 23 will be the start of the next arc. Expect some badass stuff coming up soon.
Looks like new-type spoilers are out for the next four episodes of Gurren-Lagann (that take us through August). These are really interesting in the fact that we’re going to have a few more slow episodes before the major stuff begins.
The spoilers are after the jump.
