We haven’t done an anime review in awhile, so it’s time to review Blue Exorcist. An anime that just finished up and is what, I would say, one of the best recently released shows in a long long time. The basics is that it’s about a boy who finds out he’s the son of Satan and must make his way through an academy of exorcists in order to get revenge for a rather big incident early on. We have a huge no spoiler policy around here (which makes reviews hilariously funny since we don’t talk about the plot at all), but let’s just say the story is solid.
As for the anime itself, it breaks down into the normal two season blocks. The first 12 episodes are happy go lucky while the last 12 episodes follow up with manga differing insanity and, in general, start trailing off from the mark. The last two episodes (26 in total) are a complete waste of time and have nothing at all to do with the major plot. However, it can be said that the anime is good to watch because even during the bad parts I still enjoyed myself.
Should you watch this anime? Well, I say yes, yes you should. While the story goes everywhere, the focus is insane, and Blue Exorcist does a terrible job knowing what it is doing, it’s still a lot of fun to watch and lets you just get lost within it.
Spoilers Below!
The biggest problem I had with everything is that after the 12 episode big reveal happened, it sort of gets lost halfway through the second half whenever Mephisto gets arrested. Around that time it just kind of loses its charm and the end boss being a giant portal shooting lasers everywhere WHILE they’re fighting it (after the awesome Satan reveal at the start) along with the whole no actual endboss fights just drives me up the wall.
However, discarding that (because all anime pretty much has “that”), it’s a lot of fun. Give it the three episode try!
Oh, there are some people on the Internet who think I’m a bit touched in the head. YAY!!! I’m so happy and glad to be a bit touched in the head. I wrote this while like, a bit half awake, also while being super touched in the head. Maybe Blue Exorcist made me touched in the head! Ha hahaha haha oh yes indeed.
To re-review it based off of my touchness: the ending sucked, good anime tho.
