Code Geass R2 Episode 1 Summary: The Day The Devil Awakes

As we have mentioned before, the return of Code Geass shows itself with the title, “Code Geass R2.” The title of episode one should speak for itself, since from the past Lelouch’s memory was replaced with a false one. Though whether the new series may be as good as the first is up to you to decide, and your choice to get a sneaky look at the summary heavily crammed with spoilers…

Be my guest. Follow the jump!

Zero is assumed dead, Diethard and Rakshata are still not found, and a few terrorists, (Black Knights), roam free. Not to mention the unforgettable drama between our head leader of the Order of the Black Knights and the newly promoted Knight of the Round, ‘Suzaku.’ It is hard to determine what triggered Suzaku into selling out ‘Zero,’ his childhood friend. Was it between the fact he lost a possible lover, or the many times ‘Zero,’ hid his identity? What ever it is- Lelouch lives a second life.

Sometimes its easier to just forget things and move on in life. For some like our troubled Lelouch, it’s not a choice. We were at the very midst of drama and yet it becomes calm way too soon! The perfect school boy life, skipping class to go gambling. Looks like we’re back where we started from the first episode. Let History repeat itself, aye?

The Black Knights dwindling down in numbers and from sight, elevens back to being elevens. Somehow Lelouch doesn’t feel like the treatment of elevens is fair. Great. He ‘feels,’ but like any Britannian does nothing but step back and watch with his brother, Rolo. Encountering a red headed girl in a bunny suit, Lelouch apologizes, but is given another view of how things ‘just are,’ from the red head, sparking his feelings even more. Soon she was given harsh treatment as property for being an eleven ‘with out power,’ by a certain man just collecting girls in bunny outfits.

Lelouch adjusts to the situation and challenges the man to a game of chess. Though he wins, the man accuses him of cheating in chess. I’d like to learn how you could do that…! Before the man could attack, the building starts to rattle, and the girl in the bunny suit, (Kallen), kicks the man away from herself. Why didn’t she do that before? Between the interference, the battles of ‘terrorists’ and Britannians, Kallen tries to snag Lelouch from the scene but is unable to as Lelouch and his brother Rolo try to escape. During the moment, a certain ‘terrorist’ mech suit reaches its hands out towards him. Confused he still continues to try to escape the area.

The brothers are parted by a desperate fall, but Lelouch is safe, and runs up flights of stairs to be sure his brother was safe. On his way he finds bodies of both Britannians and elevens. One thing that stands out is an eleven bunny girl with a photo of Zero crumbled in her hands. Aggravating him into believing it was at the hands of ‘Zero,’ that all the people had died.

Worse comes to worse for Lelouch, an ‘Order of the Black Knights’ appears. None other than CC shows herself, throwing Lelouch off guard by her memory of his name, claiming to be his ally, and mentioning a contract. Reaching her hand to him, she is shot, and falls into Lelouch’s arms. Facing the assaulter of CC, Lelouch turns to face the Army of Britannia.

The Britannian army appear to be disposing of the bodies, including the ones alive, disgusting Lelouch, and then even informing him that he was being used for them to find CC. As soon as he is being aimed at, Lelouch is given his memory back of the contract by CC.

History of course, as mentioned before, repeats itself. Lelouch remembering his ability questions the morals of Britannia, and then orders the men before him to kill themselves. “YES, YOUR HIGHNESS!

They aim and fire at each other, and the leader to himself.

The Order of The Black Knights also make an appearance, giving Lelouch the reigns to his name, and his new role as their leader instead of being bait.
