While not able to speak Japanese I will say that episode 22 doesn’t need much language outside of one section. All it needs is pretty much awesome. Preview after the jump.
Episode starts where 21 left off. Simon is in space and they start kicking all kinds of major ass. The moon attacks and Simon pretty much defeats the moon. That’s right. Well, the anti-spirals pull out their ultimate attack locking the Gurren Lagann away from the Arc Gurren. So Simon hits maximum spiral energy, breaks through, and gattai’s with the Arc Gurren forming the Arc Gurren Lagann breaking free of its bonds. The moon, gaining momentum, is soon to destroy our heroes when Lord Genome tells them the giga-drill is an extension of the core-drill and can be used to activate a key inside the moon.
Simon enters and prepares to insert his giga-drill into this giant hole when Nia shows up. Massive dialog happens that I’m not sure what (no one as of yet has translated it) when Simon talks Nia into stepping down and jams the giga-drill in forming what I assume is the garrest spaceship ever. Nia says something like “see you soon” and disappears. It ends with the Arc Gurren Lagann (piloted by the NOT dead Ginny and crew) along with the Gurren Lagann landing on earth.
Previews show more drama and some land based action scenes along with the prologue Captian Garlock. Seriously, can’t wait.
