Many players are finding themselves meeting with “There is currently no active subscription on this account” as they try to participate in the early access from their pre-order in SWTOR. In a nut shell, this error means it isn’t your time to shine yet and that you’ll need to wait until your account is activated for early access. A lot of players are running up to this error with the early access and don’t understand why. Well, day one went up to July 27th/28th and stopped, so many predict day two will go up to sometime in August or even September.
Many players also feel like that they should be allowed in no matter what and they should just open up the flood gates, but who knows. So far a large chunk of people are in and playing, but with so much excitement in the mix it’s hard to say what’s going to happen from here.
Personally, I pre-ordered a few months ago and I can wait to get in, but that doesn’t mean that I’m happy hearing all of my friends play. It also doesn’t mean I’m going to go spam the forums and threaten to cancel and everything else because I’m not in my Star Wars game RIGHT NOW. As a member of the Star Wars: The Old Republic Beta, I’ve gotten plenty of free playtime in, so I’m ok with waiting a few days.
Anyway, are you stuck waiting to get into the game? If you are, feel free to leave a comment below. As a site maintenance notice, we’ve moved to a new server successfully and we’re working on a new layout and bringing in some new writers, so we’ll see how things go! The site has gained a huge speed boost from the move, so that’s good.

That SHlTS BROKE!
I am going through this too
Was on the beta so I see your point about the not minding waiting that much, but if anything the betas got me gagging for more.
I also want to get back to the level I was at in the beta before its released as I somehow feel like I deserve it.
hope you’re in soon, all the best.
Actually, I’ve received no less than 5 emails from support saying that my account is active, and that I have been given early access, but I, and many others are still getting this message. Further, the majority can’t even post about it on swtor.com because for some reason we’ve been denied forum permissions.
Gosh i bought the game this afternoon all these trailers and screenshots and everything…. i just want to play…. when the sentence “theres currently no active subscription on this account” popped up i was like… oh no here we go… i dont know why but no matter what game i always seem to have problems i first thought i did something wrong but reading this i know i just have to wait so im okay, just hope i can play soon… and ofcourse you guys 2
i preordered a few days ago, and was unable to log in using my codes. Says i have an active account, but when i try to play it says i have no active subscription. i can’t even post in the forums. i played beta and was in love with the game. now being 13 hours after the official release at midnight i am really frustrated. have sent 3 tickets with no response in game or e-mail. called the help line and waited for an hour and forty five minutes before hanging up before smashing something.
Did you order from Origin? that was my problem. Apparently there is a preorder code and also a standard code they are supposed to send aftewards. I never got the other code. I called Origin customer support, they provided it over the phone, and it worked! Now I’m in que waiting to get on the server, hahahah…. more waiting. At least I can get in!
I am now getting the “no active subscription” error.
I got into Early Access last Thursday and for the past week I’ve been playing with no problems. But now this.
I know the grace period for entering the product key ends today. So maybe that has something to do with it. However, SWTOR.com acknowledges that I registered my product key on 11.19.2011, and also acknowledges that I have 27 days of game time remaining (the game came with a 30 day free subscription).
Furthermore, for some reason my account does not have permission to post on the SWTOR support forum. Nor can I get a call through to their support number, there’ s just a “unexpected volume; call back later” message. I sent them an email, but who knows how long it will take for them to respond to that.
I wonder if I should just go buy a prepaid subscription card and try that… but I don’t want to waste $30 on a 2 month subscription and then still be getting this error message.
I know exactly how you feel. I got the message for the first half hour or so when I started playing early access on the 18th. Haven’t seen it since, until the servers came back up after maintenance this morning. It’s been almost 3 hours and I’m still in the waiting room on the website. Don’t spend the money, yet, though, as I’m sure it will resolve once you get a hold of them or they fix the problems on their end.
Apparently, you need to have a subscription (Credit Card or Game Time) for AFTER the 30 days, or you won’t be able to use them……………………… Total dick move, BW.
im all subscribed up now after having to do it, the patcher still saying WHYUGOTNOACTIVESUBSCRIPTION?
haha im a day late and a dollar short, was lokking at porn.
