Code Geass Season 3 On The Way? CODE GEASS R3??

Code Geass Season 3 might be on the way OMFGWTF. The anime season has been REALLY REALLY on the down lately, like, seriously, nothing but moe garbage. ANN reports that a third season of Code Geass is in the works. I have to ask though, can Sunrise pull it off? I DON’T KNOW

BUT I DO KNOW THAT IT BETTER HAVE ORANGE-KUN IN IT. IT BETTER.

I can only imagine the plot will be about. There was that awesome image posted awhile back that was really cool and pretty much made sense if Zero/Lelouch was frozen and reawoken in the future. He was killed at the end, but was he IN THE BUGGY? WHY YES, YES HE WAS or they’re not even going to use the characters and just the story and it’ll be about someone else and feel ackward and LAME.

Fanservice though is everything. Well, if it comes out, I’ll cover it again, because I LOVE CODE GEASS. In the meantime I’m going to play flash games. If anyone has a decent current season anime they think I should watch post a comment, otherwise I’m going to feel bad and watch real life T.V. which isn’t nearly as cool.

Code Geass Retrospect

Let’s clear the air and talk about Code Geass again. I love Code Geass so much I even stopped writing about it to think about it. Anyway, let’s get our spoilers out and hop in after the jump.

Let’s talk about Code Geass.

The story is simple, Lelouch an ex-Britannian prince gains a power from C.C. that’s mystical and unexplained and uses it to recruit an army, take over Japan, lose Japan, lose his army, regain an army, fight in a mystical new dimension involving Jupiter, take over the world, and then finally die (maybe) to the hands of his best friend after enslaving his sister he fights so hard for.

Pretty simple story. Now for a random youtube:

The story might be simple, but a lot went on. Orange-kun fly through the sky for his LOYALTY, people betrayed one another left and right, and the audience didn’t have a clue what went on. The audience still has no clue what went on. The ending was rubbish, like any anime series, and it played out more like Death Note and less like a new original series. Except for one thing.

Orange-kun flew through the sky for his LOYALTY. The addition of Orange-kun led to a sense of amazement within the series. Orange-kun brought life and burning robot justice to a boring series. Sort of like how Team Rocket always made a melancholy episode of Pokemon exciting by stealing all of the pokemon. Something like that.

Orange-kun took a somber, boring, over the top in the Death Note sense anime and made it something unique. You were expecting him to come around the corner at any minute with a pizza in his hand. You never knew what he was going to do. In R2 he rolled up, half dead, and swore fealty to Lelouch. He was microwaved and even turned into a cyborg! Come on!

Looking back now I have to ask, what would Death Note had been if it had its own Orange-kun? Would Death Note even be something you could read or watch? Would it not be a template that all other anime in its newly defined genre would follow? I have no clue, but I guess, in a way, we’ll see.

Episode 12 RAW out by Zero-Raws

See our previous posts about anime raw to understand why you should download it even if you don’t want to be spoiled (quicker subs on release).

From quick skimming it’s mostly just some background story and Orange-kun with a Geass. I’m going to put out a guess but I think Orange has some kind of super Geass ability now or something that can undo C.C.’s/emperor’s geass and freeze time. The preview showed more school, action, possible Orange doing something, and well shirley.

At the end Orange uses his Geass on Shirley, I wish I knew Japanese to just know what the hell he did if it is even explained.

Lots of silly running about, the maid cross-dressing, and lots of Ashford Academy though. Bleh.

Code Geass: R2 Episode 2 Summary

The Plan for Japan’s Independence, episode 2 of Code Geass R2 is just another delicate page turned for furthering the plot for this new season. Notice that in other articles on this site lead to ways to download even these episodes with out having to get in on the details from this review today! Feel free to have a look there and spoil your eyes, or continue on the jump for more information on this episode.

Lelouch goes over his memories still where we left him, but also questions if Rolo is actually his brother. He’s nearly certain he has no younger brother, but is interrupted by a passing soldier who doesn’t even know about the story of “Zero.” Like Episode 2 of the first season, you can guess what he does to the unaware soldier with a KnightMare.

Taking the mech suit, Lelouch escapes, and the story is shifted onto Governor General Carare who is accompanied by both some interesting new characters, and Cornelia’s Knight, Gilbert Guilford. The two are informed that one of Carare’s soldier’s had their KnightMare taken from them. Gilbert insists on fixing the situation but Carare declines. He proudly suggests being the Governor it is his duty, discusses his disliking to spicy Chinese food, and that he’s intrigued in the ‘game’ of a man hunt.

Trust Issues?

Lelouch and the Order of the Black Knights still in the building gather explosives to trace the the frames of the building. Of course with a start of no trouble, and even one of the older members of the order proudly exclaims “As long as we have Zero, we can win!” Though he also mutters about his surprise about Lelouch being a student, but shrugs it off. Zero is Zero.

Not everyone is so trusting. Kallen arrives back from helping clear the first few rounds of KnightMares. So much for a “welcoming parade” for Zero… er- or Lelouch. Kallen walks up to Lelouch questioning if the Geass had ever controlled her in anyway, as her hand shook on the trigger of a gun. Being close enough to converse, Lelouch informs her that her following him was her own doing, and takes her gun. A heart felt moment is cut briefly as Lelouch asks Kallen how long she is going to be wearing that bunny outfit.

During a split scene, you see the king, Lelouch’s father, entrusting Suzaku with a powerful mech suit which he says is their weapon against the gods. The only reason Suzaku has it is because of out of the Knights of the Round, he is the only one who knows of Geass, and of Zero.

Lelouch, Kallen, and the rest that are in the building fight there way out. A mysterious fight emerges, and Lelouch is convinced the fighter is not Suzaku, but the speed of the mech, (user), is too great that the trusting ally, as shown above, risks his life for “Zero.” To not let his friend die in vain, Lelouch has the bombs in the building set off collapsing the building, and crushing the hopes and dreams in more ways than one to the once intrigued General, Carare. So much for his cameo.

Though it is found out by Gilbert and a few others the explosion of the building was also used as a pathway in itself, leading to the Chinese building. As if it were planned.

Skipping over to our lovely cliff hanger, the Chinese Guard asks Rolo if he is not for or is for Zero, and expresses his impatience. Rolo agrees that he too has his own impatience and it is revealed he has a Code Geass and is about to use it at the moment. LOVELEH!

GG .ass File if you have the RAW Already (Just name your RAW and your .ass file the same with the extension like GeassS2E1.avi and GeassS2E1.ass

Menclave, famous for their near perfect Gundam 00 subs, has thrown in their name into the subbing group hat. However, with quality comes time and it’ll be awhile I imagine before we see their episode one.

GG: Quality speed subbers. They were there in Season One and did a very good job of subbing at really fast speeds. No complaints.

Eclipse: Quality subbers. Rarely will hear complaints about them. Solid subs.

Menclave: High quality subbers however very slow. Good for archiving until you can get the DVDs.

Shinsen-Subs: Possibility of them hoping on, they’re known for their “ok” subs. Lots of “sub elitist” generally dislike Shinsen for some reason or another, but they’re pretty good overall for watchablity.

Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Season 2 Episode 1) Preview

Whew boy do we have something good for you. Code Geass season two is out OUT and while we have no subs or any promises of subs we’ve got one dozy of an episode. The preview is obviously filled with spoilers so I’ve placed all of the important details after the jump. If you want to be spoiled and can’t wait for subs then go on ahead and click “read more”. If you don’t see such a link and you see a wall of text below than click away, quickly, because episode one spoilers are coming.

Welcome back. Last time to run away from the spoilers!

The episode starts with C.C. alive and the resistance still working and then switches over to Lelouch in school. Viletta(sp) is the gym teacher. Lelouch runs around for a bit. Then we see the new op. ORANGE-KUN RETURNS IN THE OPENING. ALLLLL HAILLLLL ORANNNGGEEEEE.

Lolo is there too, bleh. Moving on we’ve got the start of episode one of Code Geass season two still with us. They’re showing executions of elevens for some reason… Diethard and the scientist lady are wanted (like the previews shown) while everyone else but C.C. is “captured” and they assume Zero is dead. Lelouch has lost his memory.

Lelouch goes gambling and the black knights assault the place they’re gambling. TONS of fighting, lolo (or rolo) drops Lulu to his death. He lives, reaches the bottom where C.C. is at, C.C. talks for a bit, then the Britannia forces show up, they kill C.C., lulu flips out, they burn the bodies, C.C. and Lulu touch ala ep 1 right before he dies. THEN he gets his memory and geass back and then WE GET LELOUCH COMMANDS YOU TO DIE. They shoot each other with the main villain shooting himself in the head.

In the end, he takes back over the order of the black knights with his memory in tact. Start season 2 of Code Geass!

Looks like the Code Geass R2 (R2 is apparently like S2 or something) has a few new details. The first one is apparently Lulu lives (but some argue it might just be Nunally). The second is he’s sporting a new Zero casual wear coat. Which is kinda funny if you ask me. Anyway…

Code Geass Season Two to Officially Air in April

Looks like 2chan has the new info out on Code Geass on season two. The official air date is during April (the start of the Spring season) at 5:00 p.m on Sunday starting April 8th. If you need some official credit to this announcement then check out ANN. This is a big change for Code Geass. Whileit was assumed that Code Geass would take on Gundam 00′s time slot we had no clue that it’d be getting a timeslot of its own especially during prime time nights.

This is big news since 5:00 p.m. Sunday on TBS is a major timeslot compared to the after midnight timeslots it got on various stations during season one. For those of you who don’t know, shows that air late at night are aimed directly at the otaku watching audience who will either stay up, bother to record it, or purchase the DVDs when they release. Will this mean bigger budget, better story, or guarantee it won’t be Sunrise’s second Destiny? No one knows for sure and we’ll have to wait until April to see. That’s about 3 months from now, personally I can’t wait!

Anyway, season 2 of Code Geass will be airing in April! Hooray!
