It looks like this fall season is a total wash for anyone not totally seeking the moe fest (and even then you’ll be sorely disappointed). For returns you have Shana season 2 and Genshiken season 2 (an actual second season continued from the OVA) that have already aired. Outside of that Bamboo Blade looks alright and Gundam 00 is still up in the air as to if it’s going to be any good (I’ve yet to watch).
Perhaps another no-name show will rise to the top but I’m doubtful. Hayate will still continue but it appears the following has nearly dropped off. Spring and Summer we had a ton of good shows ranging from Gurren Lagann to Inuyasha grade Kenichi. This fall we’re left with slim pickings which is typical. Each year you’ll either have an amazing spring and sucky fall or an amazing fall and a sucky spring.
No word yet on the second season of Code Geass which would have made this season absolutely brilliant (assuming Sunrise learns how to do sequels). If you’re looking for stuff to follow try out Bamboo Blade which looks like it may be truly interesting. Gundam 00 has mixed feelings and with the bad taste left by Destiny - it may be best just to hold off on it for awhile. Shana and Genshiken 2 require watching the previous seasons which means that unless you’ve seen those you won’t be too interested in picking them up.
